It’s Day 8 of #1000WordsOfSummer. 8 is my lucky number and I #amwriting in one of my favorite libraries, so today is feeling particularly auspicious. The world continues to be a 💩show, and in honor of @jamiattenberg’s email today, I’m making shit happen. My #wordcount today is 1,384. I’m feeling a bit nervous about the scheduling of my writing for the next few days because we have a fair amount going on, including protesting, but I’m determined to fit it in because, as today’s email also reminded me, from the great and greatly missed Roger Ebert, “The muse visits during the act of creation, not before.” So here’s to our muses and to our acts of creation.
